This course examines the social and political context of the postmodern era of filmmaking. Central to the course is a study of postmodern filmmaking techniques, aesthetic choices and stylistic devices. Contemporary films, including the work of Quentin Tarantino, the Coen Brothers, Ridley Scott, Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman, among others, will be the subjects of the course. Prerequisite: ENGL 109. Offered: Spring.
