An introduction to the maintenance, sharpening and use of basic hand tools including chisels, planes, spokeshaves, marking knives, hand saws and scrapers. Various sharpening systems are discussed. Students build two wooden handplanes and practice hand tool use. Prerequisite: WOOD 111L or equivalent. Offered: Fall and Spring.
