This course covers the theoretical basis underlying physical fitness and instruction techniques for fitness development. Methods for leading an exercise class are presented, including recruitment, adherence and motivation, design, instruction and evaluation. Current exercise class modes and formats are examined, along with special populations. Safety and injury prevention are emphasized. Prerequisites: EXSC 200 and EXSC 201. Offered: Fall.
