This course provides the students with basic and technological knowledge concerning surface and ground water treatment. Emphasis is placed on the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act of 1988 and amendments regulating potable water. Subjects include water sources, transmission, pretreatment, filtration, softening, disinfection, and related topics. Internet students must have access to the Internet and a browser. Prerequisite: ES 1553 or permission of instructor.
