This course is designed for students who need additional composition experience as evidenced by scores on the ACT or ASSET before enrolling in college level composition courses. The course focuses on the writing process, paragraph development, and essay development. The course will also include a brief review of basic grammar principles. After completion of this course, the student should possess grammar and writing skills necessary to take English composition classes at the college level. Does not count toward a degree. The Supplemental Instruction Lab will be used as a lab component. Internet students must have access to the Internet and a browser. Prerequisite: ACT score in English of 16-18 or equivalent score on alternate test.
