RESP 2473 - Clinical Practicum IV

(Prerequisite: RESP 1442 Clinical Practicum I, RESP 2452 Clinical Practicum II, RESP 2462 Clinical Practicum III. Co-requisite: RESP 2363 Critical Care) This course will concentrate on critical patients and patients being treated with mechanical ventilation. Students will also be exposed to alternate sites for patient care (physicians' office, home care, pulmonary function labs, etc). Students will be evaluated on clinical efficiency, professional conduct, and dress as well as ability to perform ventilator checks and provide appropriate respiratory care modalities to patients as designated by physical assessment and diagnostic tests under the direct supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner (LRCP). (Only offered in the spring).
