(Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Practical Nursing Program and concurrent enrollment in NURS 1114 Basic Nursing Principles and Skills Lab) This course introduces the fundamental principles and skills necessary to perform nursing care. Included are: communication, medical terminology and abbreviations, cultural aspects, death and dying, C.P.R., and basic nursing procedures including medication administration and basic skills of IV therapy initiation and maintenance are covered.
