(Prerequisite: Acceptance into AAT Fast Track) Mathematics for AAT I (Equivalent to Math 1013 Elementary Algebra) is an elementary algebra-level course designed for those students planning to go into the field of education. The course covers basic topics in arithmetic and algebra using contextualized resources from the early childhood field. This course also satisfies the prerequisites for AAT 1033 Mathematics for AAT Students II and MATH 1023 Intermediate Algebra. Note: This course is designed not only to prepare the student with the mathematical foundation for an early childhood curriculum but to also prepare them for College Algebra. Problem solving strategies, technology, activities, and manipulatives will be integrated throughout the course. This is a fast track course for that meets daily (Monday - Thursday) for 8-weeks. This course is non-transferable and is designed for students seeking P-8 Teacher Licensure.
