(Prerequisite: Health Care Provider CPR, American Heart Association or American Red Cross) This course provides the student with a framework for recognition and treatment of cardiac related emergencies. The student will gain a working knowledge in the acquisition and interpretation of standard 3 Lead monitoring and 12 Lead ECG. Emphasis is placed on the pathophysiology of cardiac related emergencies. Students learn the evolution of Acute Coronary Syndromes, and the treatment of such disorders. Successful completion of course leads the student to gain certification as Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider as recognized by the American Heart Association.
