(Prerequisite: Acceptance into ECDT Fast Track. Co-requisite: ECDT 1153 Developmental Reading for ECDT, if required.) Writing for ECDT (Equivalent to ENGL 1013 Basic English) is a basic English-level course with emphasis placed on sentence construction. Students review the parts of speech, learn to recognize and eliminate sentence errors, punctuate sentences appropriately, and use mechanics correctly, depending on the writing task. The course is designed to improve students' ability to write clear, effective communications at the college level. The course uses contextualized resources from the early childhood profession to enhance the development of basic writing skills. Students who make at least a "C" in ECDT 1143 Writing for ECDT havesatisfied the prerequisite for ENGL 1113 Fundamentals of Writing. This course is nontransferable.
