(Prerequisite: RADI 1233 Radiographic Physics and corequisite: RADI 2445 Radiographic Practicum V) This course provides an overview of the principles of the interaction of radiation and biological systems. The effects of radiation and biological systems will be discussed. The effects of radiation on biological molecules and organisms and factors affecting biological response are discussed. This course also provides an overview of the principles of radiation protection and the responsibilities of the radiographer. Regulatory agencies will be identified and agency involvement discussed.
