Microbiology is an introductory course in Microbiology. It includes a study of algae, fungi, protozoa, viruses and bacteria. Emphasis is to be placed on techniques involved with sterilization, infection and resistance; diagnostic testing and immunization; and importance of microorganisms to man. Laboratory experiments are designed to aid in familiarization with microbiological techniques, morphology of organisms and aseptic procedures. Prerequisite: one course in college level-chemistry and, ZOO 1114, or BIOL 1214, or BOT 1114.
