This course is designed to enable the student to identify traditional and contemporary styles of architecture; identify architectural styles of lettering, tools, and material; identify and utilize components and symbols on a plot plans; develop residential sketches; identify types of framing systems, framing members, cornices, sizes of floor joist, roof rafters, wood girders, steel beams and headers; arrange working drawings; identify plan, elevation symbols of doors and windows; sketch and draw floor plans and elevations; utilize dimensioning; identify footing systems, methods of waterproofing, methods of maintaining structural integrity; identify and draw stairways, fireplaces with details; construct plumbing drawings; perform heating ventilation and air conditioning ( HVAC ) calculations and draw HVAC plan; identify and construct electrical installations; and develop presentation drawings.
