Description:
A course designed for directors of child care facilities, including centers and family child care homes, serving children from infancy through the early primary years. The student will identify criteria for managing a budget, supervising staff, planning programs, and creating safe, healthy environments. The student will recognize the importance of parent involvement and review the state regulations required for the care of children. Developmentally appropriate practice is emphasized. Assistant directors and caregivers interested in gaining knowledge in administration would also benefit from this course. This course satisfies the CDA Competencies #5 and #6. This course provides 32 of the 40 clock hours of director's training required by DHS to meet certain criteria for the Stars Program.
