1 hour lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Comment: Letter grade only. OTA 111 may not be audited. OTA 111 may not be taken credit/no credit. OTA 111 examines the meaning of occupation and activity through the use of the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework and applies relevant terminology to activity analysis. Students will create a portfolio that will be continued throughout their OTA program documenting learning and growth in the profession. Utilizing technology to access information, students will evaluate characteristics of occupational therapy practitioners and the importance of professional organizations and professional development. Upon successful completion of OTA 111, the student should be able to: 1. Describe the meaning and dynamics of occupation and activity including the interaction of areas of occupation, performance skills, performance patterns, activity demands, contexts and client factors. 2.
