3 hours lecture per week Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into a Legal Education program; LAW 111. Recommended Preparation: LAW 102; LAW 203; credit in or qualification for ENG 100 or ENG 160. Comment: LAW 250C may not be audited. LAW 250C is a directed reading, writing, and research course that provides the student with advanced training and specialized knowledge in the area of litigation. Topics include medical malpractice and construction litigation. Upon successful completion of LAW 250C, the student should be able to: Investigate, research, and prepare basic documents involved in medical malpractice litigation, including pleadings with the medical claims conciliation panel, complaints in Circuit Court, and basic trial documents including a Settlement Conference Statement.
