ENG 271N is a study of the form and content of selected short stories and novels. In addition to the general ENG 271(Alpha) competencies, upon successful completion of ENG 271N, the student should be able to: Identify the distinctive features of the short story and novel. Distinguish between some short story writers and novelists and their characteristic themes and techniques. Write papers on different literary problems related to the study of the short story and novel.
