ART 209 provides students with the basic theory, practice, and techniques for digital video with sequential digitized imagery and synchronized sound. Upon successful completion of ART 209, the student should be able to: Identify the genres, techniques and aesthetics of the moving image in film and video as it relates to the aesthetics of multimedia. Translate the aesthetics and techniques of the moving image and sound to the electronic media. Use analytical thinking skills to understand and be "literate" in the time-based arts to their greater social, political, and cultural contexts. Explore the art making process using contemporary electronic media, including computer graphics and sound. Complete the creative problem-solving process, from planning and divergent thinking to implementation and evaluation.
