Prerequisite: Two semesters of high school chemistry with a grade of "C" or better and two years of highschool algebra with a grade of "C" or better within theprevious five years of registration date, or equivalent (CHM101) General Chemistry I is a study of the composition and structure of matter with emphasis on fundamental laws and related computations. The topics covered include stoichiometry, atomic structure, chemical bonding, chemical reactions in aqueous solutions, physical states of matter, and properties of solutions. Laboratory time is required. General Chemistry I will fulfill the laboratory science requirement for the Associate of Arts degree. (F,S)
