Prerequisite: None Survey of Art I is a broad survey of the visual arts from the Paleolithic Age, the ancient Near East, Greece, and Rome to the Middle Ages. This course emphasizes the historic, social, and intellectual background of the artistic and architectural masterpieces that comprise the cultural heritage of early western civilization. Survey of Art I will partially fulfill the humanities requirement for the Associate of Arts degree. This course is required for all art majors. (D)
