Pre-Req: High School graduate (academic) or GED equivalency, eighteen years of age, and HSC 100 Co-Req: None This Emergency Services course is designed for firefighters, law enforcement, industrial safety personnel, and individuals seeking fundamental knowledge and skills in the treatment of injury and illness. Topics to be included are: The EMS system, First Responder roles and responsibilities, airway management, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma emergencies, emergency childbirth, and documentation. Practical labs will be conducted. Clinical observation is required. Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will be eligible to take the state of Tennessee First Responder Certification examination.
