Utilizes the nursing process to meet the biopsychosocial needs of individuals/families experiencing prevalent variations in health throughout the lifespan. Focuses on introducing basic concepts and needs and continued development of nursing skills. Includes math computational skills and basic computer instruction related to the delivery of nursing care; oxygenation, neurological, endocrine, safety, sensory, rest, sleep, activity, self-esteem, respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and muscoskeletal needs; and the care of clients with dementia. Provides supervised learning experiences in college nursing laboratories and/or cooperating agencies. Prerequisite: NUR 111. Lecture 5 hours. Laboratory 12 hours. Total 17 hours per week.
