Establishes a firm basis on which to build subsequent nursing courses. Examines the essential concepts and core values of the nursing profession including health and wellness, safety, caring, critical thinking, ethics, the nursing process, and standards of practice. The Neuman Systems Model is the framework for the study of client care. Prerequisite: BIO 161 ENG 101, and PSY 101 with grades of C or better. Corequisite: BIO 130 and NUR 180
