Introduces the student to the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding system for procedures used in ambulatory care and services rendered by physicians. Emphasis is on the six sections of the CPT Coding Manual, elements of coding techniques and guidelines. The CPT Coding Manual is used to code the procedures and services performed by physicians. Individual code numbers are assigned to identify all procedures and services. Prerequisite: BIO 135, BIO 136 and HSC 112 with grades of C or better. Prior or concurrent enrollment in MOA 195.
