Introduces the student to the current International Classification of Diseases (ICD). ICD coding is designed for the classification of patient morbidity (sickness) and mortality (death) information for statistical purposes and for the indexing of hospital records by disease and operation for data storage and retrieval. Includes elements of coding techniques and guidelines, structured learning exercises and computer applications. Prerequisite: BIO 135, BIO 136 and HSC 112 with grades of C or better. Prior or concurrent enrollment in MOA 195,
