Develops basic employment skills, including on-the-job communication and job search strategies. Reviews vocabulary, listening, speaking, and literacy skills necessary for entry-level jobs in restaurant, hotel, factory/warehouse, office, and other settings. Develops job search skills such as describing qualifications, and preparing for basic job interviews. Promotes awareness of workers' rights, responsibilities, and health and safety issues in the workplace. This course is for English Language Learners (ELLs) with limited formal schooling in their native countries. This is the second in a sequence of three courses. Carries no transfer credit. * ICCB approval of this course is pending.
