This course is designed to examine the principles of industrial accident prevention. Topics to be covered include accident statistics and cost, appraising safety performance, recognition of industrial hazards, and recommended safeguards. A study of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and the Coal Mine Health and Safety Act will be discussed. Prerequisite: None.
