And investigation of the composition, properties and testing of heavy/civil construction materials including soils, aggregates, Portland cement, concrete, asphaltic/ bituminous materials, ferrous and nonferrous metals, and structural timber. Laboratory experiments are performed to supplement lecture topics, including applied testing of Portland cement, concrete, steel, aluminum and asphalt. 113 Contact Hours. Prerequisite: AEC 121.
