(2 credits) Offers a systematic approach designed to help students improve their reading skills in the areas of study reading, vocabulary and comprehension. This course also incorporates writing into the reading class by helping students appreciate why recognizing good writing enhances the reading process and its retention. The classroom format incorporates both large and small group instruction as well as individual assignments. Classroom activities will include the examination of various reading assignments taken from textbooks used at FDLTCC. Reading for enjoyment is encouraged through use of a variety of materials.
