3 credits This course is designed to introduce students lacking a strong biology or allied health background to the field of genetics and its impact on society. After successful completion of the course, students will have a basic knowledge of cell structure and function, Mendelian and molecular genetics, sex-linked traits, genetic disorders, genetic engineering and genetic counseling.
