The course is designed to provide an overview of current identification, assessment, treatment and research methods most widely used in the intervention and recovery process for adolescents with substance abuse disorders. The course will discuss the continuum of care from the initial identification through aftercare. It is intended to give the student information regarding the formal and legal responsibilities concerning the assessment and treatment process as well as awareness of and insight into the current instruments and methods used to assist adolescents in their recovery.
