(1 credit) This course will explore ethnic and cultural differences experienced in correctional facilities. The course will aid the student in contrasting diversity issues in society and how issues of diversity affect correctional facilities. Myths and stereotypes are discussed with emphasis on how these impact facilities in the forms of prejudice and discrimination by individuals and the institution itself.
