3 credit hours Students will identify the proper tools and develop the skills for usage in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Students will develop the basic theory and practice of high and low-pressure steam and hot water boilers. They will distinguish and demonstrate the procedures of the waterside and fireside controls, and translate ASME and CSD-1 code compliance in to boiler operation practice. Students will develop a maintenance schedule including boiler log and safety check. Students will have the opportunity to obtain Boiler Operator and Control certification. Course material in portfolio development will be included.
