3 credits (Fall and Spring Semesters) Prerequisites: Ability to use internet and word processing. An introduction to the major issues, research, problems, current service approaches in the study of aging process. Highlights the themes of demographic trends, theories of aging, lifespan development, person/environment in-teraction, optimal quality of life including economic and housing issues and cross-cultural and societal factors. An overview of information useful for students in the arts and sciences, business, education, and allied health and nursing programs. This course is cross-referenced with GERO 201. .
