2 credit hours This second semester course will provide the EMTP student with knowledge and skills necessary for providing advanced cardiac life support treatment modalities to patients who may have suffered a cardiovascular related emergency. Knowledge that will be gained in this course will include: interpretation of electrocardiograms, application of cardiovascular pharmacology, and extensive application and practice of advance cardiac life support. Students will develop processes associate with determining the pathophysiology of cardiac diseases, as well as decision making/critical thinking processes to formulate a treatment modality and apply such to a contrived patient situation.
