3 credit hours Students will develop skills and knowledge designed to prepare them for an administrative support role in an office for the twenty-first century. Students through hands-on activities, Internet activities, presentations, and group activities will learn to be a productive member of an office team, learn about interpersonal cultures, develop skills in technology, written and oral communication, leadership (soft skills), interpersonal, and critical thinking. Students will learn to use a reference manual that provides the basic rules that apply in grammar and writing. Students will use a 10-key calculator using touch method to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute percents and discounts. Students will key a 3-minute timing at 50/wpm. (Prerequisites: BUS 125, BAT 123, BUS 103, BUS 229, and BUS 123).
