BT 145 - Building Trades Field Experience II

10 credits (Spring Semester) Prerequisites: BT 130, BT 135. Corequisite: BT 140. This course will provide a "hands-on" experience in blue-print and plan reading and delineate the role of exterior and interior finish as it relates to the actual construction of a house. The student will gain a working knowledge of window and door installation; plumbing, electrical, and heating/air conditioning procedures; insulation techniques; and drywall, flooring and trim installation. This will in-clude use of all applicable tools and materials required in the finish construction of a house. All aspects of job site and workplace safety related to residential construction will be examined through lecture, video, and guest speakers. This course is part of the Building Trades core course selection and is taught in conjunction with BT 140, Introduction to Building Trades II, in which the student studies the prin-ciples and concepts of the Building Trades profession.
