3 Credits. 3 Periods. Equivalent of ENG102 for students of English as a Second Language (ESL). Emphasis on rhetoric and composition with a focus on persuasive, research-based writing and understanding writing as a process. Developing advanced college-level writing strategies through three or more writing projects comprising at least 4,000 words in total. Prerequisites: Grade of C, or better, in ENG107. Course Note: Through three or more writing projects comprising at least 4,000 words in total, the student will demonstrate an understanding of writing as a process per the course competencies. Not open to students who have completed ENG101.
