PREREQUISITE: AVT 142. This course is a study of high reliability soldering and rework techniques, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations that direct repair station operation, sheetmetal procedures used in the installation of avionics systems, and aircraft wiring techniques. Developing the ability to do industry-standard soldering, constructing several sheetmetal projects, and constructing a wiring harness for the King Radio KX-155 system are emphasized. Upon completion students should be able to perform board repair and install avionics equipment to industry and FAA standards.
