PREREQUISITE: AVT 121. This course provides basic principles of electronic communications (including AM, FM, and SSB receivers), transmitters and transceivers theory, antennas, transmission lines, and wave propagation. Communications circuits used in amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, and single-sideband receiver/transmitter; and development of diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills are emphasized. Upon completion students will be able to align, troubleshoot, and repair a basic receiver, and will have a working knowledge of antennas, frequency spectrum, and wave propagation.
