3 Semester Hours This course focuses on tourism planning as a process and set of techniques for sustainable tourism development. It examines the physical environment of tourism planning, and the social, cultural and political realities of tourism planning and policy making. Public and private sector roles are evaluated, as well as the nature, parameters and constraints attached to tourism development. The emphasis of the course is on strategic regional and community-based tourism planning.
