4 Semester Hours Prerequisite: CHM 203. Laboratory Course: 3 hours in the classroom and 2 hours lab work each week. Beginning with a review of organic nomenclature, this course focuses on classes of organic compounds and their reactions. Several biochemical topics will be introduced, including the chemistry of the major classes of biological molecules. The course will cover the structure and reactions of bodily fluids, as well as energy-acquiring and energy-releasing pathways.
