(Prerequisite: AOT 1143 or equivalent knowledge of medical terminology) Encompasses both CPT-4 coding techniques as well as basic understanding of insurance filing. Current Procedure Terminology, 4th Edition (CPT-4) is used exclusively for doctor office billing practices and is required for insurance Course Descriptions 107 reimbursement. Students are instructed in assigning the correct CPT-4 code to office procedures as well as the different types of insurance carriers. Hands-on computer techniques are utilized. (Cr. 3)
