4 credits GE category: Social Science, Intensive Writing Offered every spring semester Prerequisites: PSY 101, ENG 102, and PSY 220 or MAT 160 or concurrent enrollment in ENG 102, PSY 220, or MAT 160 This course is an introduction to the experimental and quantitative methods used by psychologists to generate new psychological knowledge, and to determine the generality, validity, and reliability of research data. Laboratory will offer demonstrations as well as direct experience with research methods and techniques, and with methods for the analysis, description, and reporting of research results.
