This course consists of the practical appli-cations of the study of properties of the hair and scalp; principles of hair design; shampooing, rinsing, and conditioning; haircutting; hairstyling; braiding and braid extensions; hair enhancements; chemical texture services, and hair coloring. Included are classroom theory and lab prac-tice as governed by Mississippi cosmetology laws, rules, and regula-tions involved in cosmetology practices and safety precautions associ-ated with each. Three semester hours credit. Nine hours lab.
