A study of the nature, scope, and effects of the major social problems of today and the theoretical preven-tive measures to alleviate them. Course includes such problems as unemployment, urbanization, crime, juvenile delinquency, alcoholism, drug addiction, and disaster, family problems include the aged, mental-ly ill, and retarded. Field trips to more fully acquaint students with social problems. Three lecture hours. Three semester credit hours.
