This course is designed to provide the students with physiology of reproductive and women's health care, along with strengthening the student's ability to identify the pathophysiological process as they affect the adult/child/newborn's ability to maintain his regulatory, immune and mobility needs. The student will utilize the nursing process in providing patient/family-centered care throughout the lifespan with emphasis on setting short- and long-term goals. The course is planned to help the student recognize the adult/ child/newborn's physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs. Nursing care will focus upon health promotion, assessment, and identifi cation of normal and high-risk situations and management of care for selected content within the clinical setting along with utilization of community resources. Prerequisite: NR 1014/NR1022 Fundamentals of Nursing of Adults and Children I, NR 1052/ NR 1063 Mental Health Nursing Lecture/ Lab. Co-requisite: BI 2403/BI 2411 Microbiology Lecture/Lab recommended.
