(3.0 hours) An introduction to the basic principles of chemistry, including inorganic, analytical, physical, and organic chemistry. Three hours of lecture and two two-hour laboratory periods per week. This course is designed for the student with no background in chemistry. Prerequisite: MT 1303 with a grade of "C" or better, or a mathplacement score equivalent to enter MT 1403. Corequisite: CH 1112
