NR 1014 - Fundamentals of Nursing Lecture

A course designed to introduce the student to the nature of man and his response to illness. Abdellah's Nursing Problems are used to show the human as a whole as well as various alterations that may occur as a result of illness. The primary focus is to develop a high degree of skill in performing commonly prescribed therapeutic and nursing regimes. Normal nutrition and pharmacology are introduced. Pediatrics is integrated. Four and one-half hours lecture per week. Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Nursing program. Corequisite: NR 1022. Prerequisite or Corequisite: BI 2102, BI 2112. Fall semester, fi rst year.
