The student will have simulated and actual opportunities to apply principles and skills used in the transition from the LPN/LPTN to the professional role of a registered nurse. Emphasis will be placed on the nursing process, physical assessment skills, client education, and care of acute and chronically ill clients. Prerequisites: Admission to the nursing program, a "C" or better in thefollowing general education courses: BIO 2114, BIO 2134, BIO 2504, ENG 1013, ENG 1023, MTH 1013 or MTH 1113, HSC 1113, PSY 1003, PSY 2003 and maintenance of a 2.5 GPA or better. Corequisites: NUR 1023 and NUR 1904.
